Ways You Can Help the Animals
Have you always had a desire to help animals but not known exactly how? Wanted to do something worthwhile and fun with your spare time? Well look no further! We are always looking for caring individuals who are ready to make a difference in the world and have a blast at the same time.
There are as many ways to help animals as there are people! You can start today by donating your time and talents, donating animal supplies or giving your financial support! Your talents don't need to be animal related either. One of our fabulous volunteers loves to sew. She helps the animals at Palisades by sewing cat toys and making animal beds for the rescue to sell and use! Check out some ideas below or shoot us an email with your ideas. Hands on Help!
- Become a Foster Parent! While many of our cats do live at our adoption center we still have a great need for foster homes for both cats and dogs. Palisades provides all medical care and foster homes provide love and attention. There are plenty of situations where our animals need foster homes. For example, all animals coming into Palisades must spend at least 2 weeks in a foster home. Some of our cats do not do well in a group setting so remain in foster homes until they are adopted. In addition all of our dogs are also kept in foster homes. Get started today by filling out the foster application!
- Volunteer at Adoption Events! Adoption events are held most Saturdays 11am-3pm and Sundays 12pm-4pm. Help keep the animals calm, greet visitors and snuggle up with some adorable critters and other animal lovers! Click here for our volunteer form!
- Help with daily cleaning and socialization! With the new adoption center we will need volunteers daily to come and help out. Do a little light cleaning in the cat rooms and spend the majority of the time loving up on the felines. What better reward is there for cleaning than a snuggled up kitten purring?!?
Provide financial support!
One of our largest ongoing needs is financial support. We work hard to keep costs down and to fundraise but donations are always needed and greatly appreciated. We pull from many small shelters and unfortunately many of the animals need medical care which can become pricey. Palisades is a 501(c)3 non profit rescue so any donations are tax deductible! There are numerous ways to donate to the animals.

- Sponsor an Adoptable or Sanctuary Animal! Each of our lovely cats and dogs can be sponsored. This helps us provide for each of the animals in our care. With your sponsorship you can add a brief note to their profile in honor or memory of friends, family or pets. To sponsor a pet please email anna@PalisadesRescue.org.
Creative endeavors! Do you have a knack for crafts? Its possible to put your skills into action to save a life! We are always looking for sewers, painters, jewelry makers and more. Use your talents to help beautify the adoption center, raise funds and make life for the cats and dogs more comfortable. Not sure how your talents could be used? Just send us an email and we'll get creative!
Shop, shop, shop! Do you love to shop? Well here's your chance to shop till your hearts content and not feel one bit guilty because you are helping save lives at the same time! Odds and Ends!
- Recycle - Bring in your empty ink cartridges and old cell phones!
- Hold a yard or bake sale! If you have a love of yard sales or "junking" as one of our friends calls it let us know. We are searching for individuals to organize and plan periodic yard sales to benefit the rescue.
- Love fundraising and event planning? We are in need of creative fundraisers to help plan and carry out events that keep Palisades operating and helping animals.
